Sunday videos

It's Sunday, and that means it's time to share a selection of surf videos I enjoy. Some are new, but not all; the idea is to watch inspiring videos for your next surf session, gear selection, or trip!

Sunday, December 5th

This week, we start with Kassia Meador and her scene in the film "The Heart & The Sea" by Nathan Oldfield (watch it if you haven't already).

I love Kassia, who combines grace and performance on a longboard. She paved the way, inspiring a whole generation of girls and showing that longboarding was also suited to a feminine style. She's also a pioneer in the industry, being one of the first pro surfers to break away from a major brand (Roxy) to create her own brand, " Kassi a".

We continue with longboarding, this time in New York with the Vans Duct Tape Invitational , the competition initiated by the legend Joel Tudor. An original event where the spirit of competition is not welcome and gives way to fun and sharing, a comeback of the very essence of surfing in the modern world.

We'll finish with a clip from our friend Edouard Delpero that will give you the motivation for the next winter sessions! Edouard shows here that he knows how to choose the right board according to the wave conditions in order to enjoy the Ocean.

Sunday, December 29

Today we're starting with bodyboarding. Legendary Mike Stewart and multiple European champion Hugo Pinheiro went to test the extreme conditions of Iceland. Hugo, if you want to stay warmer next time, remember to bring a Sen No Sen wetsuit :-)

Change of temperature! I stumbled across this super cool DEUS video. The Australian brand organized a bodysurfing competition in Bali where you can see Jared Mell and Harrison Roach enjoying the simple pleasures of riding the waves without boards in a competitive atmosphere just the way we like it at Sen No Sen!

Back to the cold in France with this lovely clip from Benjamin Sanchis and Jérémy Flores in Hossegor , during a session last November.

Sunday, December 22, 2019

We'll start with one of my favorite surfers, Dave Rastovitch. A true waterman and freesurfer who has always paddled against the dictates of the surf industry.

The second video is called Noosaradise and it's a Sen No Sen project with Edouard and Antoine DELEPERO from 5 years ago. Since I'm currently looking for some archival footage for the brand's 20th anniversary, I stumbled across it again and enjoyed watching it once more!

As Christmas approaches, a beautiful family story, that of Matt Meola and his sister Lily.

To conclude, here's the latest video from our two amazing youngsters, Louka and Timéo Zaninotto, only 10 and 13 years old respectively, who dream of following in the footsteps of Pierre Louis Costes. Ocean Roots has produced their first video, titled "4 Seasons," which chronicles their year at their home spot in La Salie, as well as in Morocco, Portugal, and the Canary Islands.
