I receive many messages asking for my opinion on the question: what is the best combination for summer?
As is often the case, there is no easy answer because depending on the region (and therefore the weather conditions), the practice and the desires, each combination has its advantages and disadvantages for the surfer.
For those who are sensitive to the cold, surfers from the "north", or those looking for warmth in the middle of summer, a good 3/2mm will keep you warm in the water below 17°C or during long windy sessions.
That said, nothing beats a 2.2mm for summer because the outside and water temperatures are more than enough and the comfort of having just a 2mm on your back is incomparable.
For those who are sensitive to the cold, we have a 2mm full suit.
Very rare on the market, this type of wetsuit is an excellent compromise between a 3/2mm and a summer wetsuit with arms or legs exposed.
It's actually my favorite wetsuit in the southwest when the water is between 16 and 18°C. I'm quite warm and, above all, I have even more freedom of movement.

As soon as the water temperature rises above 18°C, I don't take off my long-sleeved shorty wetsuit. Having my legs in the water but my arms protected from the wind is a good compromise. And above all, I appreciate how easy a long-sleeved shorty is to put on compared to a short-sleeved full wetsuit.
Choosing between long-sleeved shorts and a short-sleeved full-sleeved top is a no-brainer. Both offer the same level of protection from the cold, are comfortable, and practical for summer. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.
Some surfers who prefer short-sleeved full suits: John John Florence, Kelly Slater, Mickey Wright, Josh Garner or in our region Charly Martin and Paul-Cezar Distringuin.
Some surfers who prefer long-sleeved shorts: Mason Ho, Jamie O'Brien, Alex Knost, Joel Tudor, Jared Mell, Pierre Louis Costes, Andre Botha...

This season, we offer a line of 2.2mm wetsuits in limestone for those who want the high-end reference in neoprene and natural rubber Yulex for those who want to wear the most eco-responsible wetsuit possible.
Note our new "Caribbean Blue" color available on the Yulex full suit and long-sleeved shorty.
Have you made your choice?
