Hi Alice, can you introduce yourself for those who don't know you?
Hello, my name is Alice Lemoigne, I'm turning 22 tomorrow (haha) and I'm from Reunion Island. I started surfing at the age of 6 in Reunion and I started competing at the age of 11.
You've just returned from the United States where you won your first World Tour competition, how are you feeling?
Wow, that's just amazing, I still can't quite believe it. But I'm so happy, it gives me confidence for the last stage of the tour with lots of determination.
You come from Reunion Island and you now live in Biarritz, how is life in mainland France?
Life in Biarritz is really great, I love it, even though I miss Reunion Island a lot, especially the tropical heat. I'd say I have a hard time getting used to winter, it's too cold, so I'm going to recharge my batteries on my island in December and I'll take the opportunity to travel afterwards.
How do you feel about the "shark crisis" in Reunion Island? Is it something that makes you want to get more involved? In what ways?
The shark crisis is very complicated; it's been going on for years and not much progress has been made. I lost some friends there, and my victories are, in a way, for them and to prove that Reunion Island has plenty of good surfers and also some very beautiful waves, and that's why they have to change things.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in Biarritz?
The advantages: surfing every day, friends, easy to travel pretty much anywhere, and it's not too complicated. The disadvantages: cold, cold, cold haha
What is a typical day like for Alice?
It starts with a good breakfast full of fruit to get all the vitamins I need for the day. After that, I'll check the conditions to decide which sport I'll train for. Then I'll eat and surf again if the conditions allow, otherwise I'll spend some time with my friends and finish with a physical workout.

Your specialty is longboarding, can you explain why you chose this particular sport?
I started with shortboarding, did several competitions, and then moved on to longboarding. I loved the feeling of walking on the board, a bit like walking on water!
It's not easy to have a career as a surfer, what are the problems you encounter most often?
The biggest problem I encounter is securing sponsorship contracts that will help me with my competitions.

What are your plans for the coming months?
For now I have the French championships in mid-October and then I'm going to Taiwan for the last stage of the World Championships.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself surfing perfect waves and still hoping to follow the World Tour.
One last word?
Thanks to my parents who help me a lot.
My sponsors: Sen No Sen, Oceanearth, Coolshoes, Eq love, Belles des pins) and my friends.
