The final stage of the IBC World Tour took place in recent days on the now famous Fronton wave in the Canary Islands.
The Fronton King 2023 is always a highly anticipated event for the bodyboarding community and even followed by all surfers who are often impressed by the power of this wave and the commitment of the bodyboarders.
This year again the World Champion title was decided on this last stage, this time between Tanner Mc Daniel and Pierre Louis Costes .
This 2023 vintage was marked by the arrival of a new generation.
First, two of the very best riders at this spot, Amaury Lavernhe and Pierre Louis Costes, who had enjoyed moments of glory in previous editions, were eliminated early, preventing them from reaching the podium this time. The two bodyboarding giants were each knocked out by the two young finalists in their twenties, David Perez Miranda from the Canary Islands and Robin Legros from Réunion Island , both eliminated in the first round of trials, and both without major sponsors.
The other big surprise and tremendous performance was that of the very young Peruvian Micheel "Pirpo" Yancce, who won the Junior World Championship title and also finished 3rd in the open category. The juniors were impressive. Among them were our ambassadors SenNoSen Louka and Timeo Zaninotto, who finished 5th in the King Fronton.
Timéo finished 7th in the world on this 2023 Tour and Louka 11th and best Frenchman.

In the Open category, this new generation is embodied by the title of the young and yet highly anticipated Tanner Mc Daniel who, at 24 years old, wins his first World Championship title.
Pierre Louis Costes is runner-up at the World Championships for the sixth time. With two World Championship titles and six runner-up titles, PLC shows that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming seasons.

The other event is Ethan Capdeville who at only 20 years old finished 4th in the world with a very good season where he showed mature surfing and certainly one of the most stylish on the Tour.

Special mention to Yon Aimar who finished in the Top 16, he delighted us during this stage of the Fronton.
This season has been full of emotion, and it's been a real pleasure to see this new scene emerge and solidify. Thank you 2023, bring on 2024!
