The Quemao Class has become one of the most prestigious surfing competitions in Europe. It's an invitation-only event with a waiting period to ensure the best wave conditions at the famous Quemao surf spot on the Canary Island of Lanzarote.
Among the guests were no less than four of our ambassadors: Joan Duru, Pierre Louis Costes, Robin Legros, Ethan Capdeville.
This 2023 edition truly offered an incredible spectacle, both in terms of the quality of the waves and the level of surfing of the participants.
Joan Duru was simply the boss throughout the entire event and won the surfing competition. He set the tone right from the first round with a 10-meter wave. This was followed by perfectly executed heats all the way to the top step of the podium.
In bodyboarding, Ethan Capdeville confirmed his excellent year on the World Tour with a 4th place finish, proving to be one of the very best competitors in the competition and consistently scoring above 9 points. He was ultimately stopped by the legendary Amaury Lavernhe, who won the event.
